Hello!

I always find myself involved in several experiences that have largely contributed to humanitarian causes. I'm a strong believer in tech-for-good—I have led the successful launch of the Drones for Humanity project. This initiative designs heavy-lifting multicopters that autonomously deliver relief and aid supplies to disaster-stricken areas.

I've worn many hats throughout my career, as an autonomous drone engineer, business leader, educator, and self-driving vehicle engineer. I love to learn and grow as both a professional and a person, working towards the betterment of humanity at the same time. My work with Drones For Humanity made me a Finalist for the Thiel Fellowship in 2017.

Being passionate about robotics and electronics for as long as I can remember, I first started to tinker with circuits and electronics at the age of six. I have a tendency to get carried away with learning about a subject once it piques my interest, and this has resulted in me having a large arsenal of skills and knowledge in topics ranging from power electronics to public policy. I love making new acquaintances, so here’s a little website showcasing what I do.

Drones For Humanity

Founder

2014-Present
Drones for Humanity, a research initiative turned non-profit, explores the use of drones in humanitarian aid delivery following natural disasters. Having conceived the idea in 2013, I built the initial 4 prototypes, which have been presented at three Maker Faire exhibits. After developing an implementation plan as part of MIT's 15.390 New Enterprises course, we later received over $65k in grant funding to run a research test in Indonesia over the summer of 2017. Being humanitarian-focused yet technologically-intensive, we are expanding the realm of technical non-profits.
Covercrop Innovations

Hardware Engineer

Winter 2019
A research project funded by the MIT Sandbox Innovation Fund looking into the use of drones in agriculture. Developing a heavy-lifting drone system for spreading cover crop seeds over farmland, significantly reducing costs over the conventional method of manned helicopters.
Vivint Smart Home

R&D Intern

Summer 2018
Developed a data acquisition tool from scratch to measure security system electrical characteristics, and worked with senior leadership to develop a new business model informed by this project.
AFRL Commander's Challenge

Hardware Engineer

Spring 2017
Research project aimed at developing an aerial delivery system that is capable of precision payload delivery in extreme environmental conditions.
MIT IS&T

IT Support Specialist

2016-Present
Provided general computing support to the MIT community.

Speaking Engagements

World Bank UHC 2030 Conference

Tokyo, Japan

2017
Presented Drones For Humanity project to various Heads of State and dignitaries from African nations, as well as the President of the World Bank.
MIT Alumni Leadership Conference

Boston, Massachusetts

2017
Spoke about our Drones For Humanity deployment over the summer of 2017 to MIT alumni going back as far as the class of 1951.
Robouniverse 2017

Seoul, South Korea

2016-Present
Presented drone delivery logistics concepts to government officials and professionals in the logistics industry.
Maker Faire New York 2015, Bay Area 2016

New York City

2015, 2016
Presented my heavy-lifting drone prototypes, as well as demonstrated a drone that I controlled with my mind through an EEG headset.
EAA Airventure Oshkosh

Oshkosh, Wisconsin

2015, 2016
Presentation of the early Drones For Humanity prototypes, as well as a flight demonstration at the Airshow.

Projects

My portfolio features a variety of projects and initiatives.

Many of my side projects are just for fun, albeit a little extra sometimes. Admittedly, I sometimes aim for the “wow factor” through my larger projects, though they can occasionally be overwhelming to complete. Either way, I enjoy making stuff, especially when there is an innovative component to it. Here are a few things I’ve worked on over the past few years:
